SUMMARY:Virtual Study Club: Domestic Abuse
DESCRIPTION:Domestic abuse is at epidemic levels\, with one in three individuals experiencing abuse in their lifetime. Domestic abuse impacts everyone—regardless of age\, economic status\, gender\, sexuality\, or ethnicity. People are reaching out for help and support\, not only to formal support services but also to those close to them. \nReal Talk workshops encourage participants to rethink norms\, attitudes\, perspectives\, and definitions surrounding domestic and sexual abuse and learn how to offer support. This is the first step toward prevention. Real Talk is a customized workshop that teaches participants to recognize abuse\, understand its impact on individuals and the community\, and develop comfort in responding to domestic violence disclosures\, including providing appropriate support and referrals to services. \nReal Talk workshops are delivered within communities where people live\, work\, and gather. We encourage you to set the tone for community by joining the Real Talk campaign. You can book a workshop\, wear a Real Talk pin\, or challenge your friends and family to learn more about domestic abuse.
